This is a personal travel blog. This page explains what information is collected when you visit, why, and what choices you have.

What I Collect

Analytics. This site uses Google Analytics to understand how many people visit, which posts are popular, and roughly where visitors are coming from. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information such as your approximate location (usually city-level, derived from IP address), device and browser type, and which pages you visit. I don't see your name or exact identity through this — it's aggregated, anonymised usage data.

Newsletter signup. If you subscribe, I collect your email address so I can send you new posts. I don't use this for anything else, and I don't sell or share it with third parties beyond the email service provider used to send the newsletter itself.

Why I Collect It

To understand how the site is being used and improve it over time
To send newsletter updates to people who've asked for them
To respond to messages sent through the contact form

Third Parties

Google Analytics processes visitor data on my behalf. Google's own privacy policy governs how they handle this data, and some of it may be processed on servers outside Australia. You can read Google's privacy policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy.
Buttondown processes newsletter subscriber emails on my behalf, solely to deliver the newsletter.

I don't sell, rent, or otherwise share your personal information with any other third party.

This site uses cookies for analytics purposes (see above). Cookies are small text files stored on your device. You can disable cookies in your browser settings at any time, though this may affect how some parts of the site work. See the Cookie Notice below for more detail.

Your Choices

You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the link in any email you receive.
You can ask me to tell you what personal information I hold about you, correct it, or delete it, by contacting me at kaicat.ptyltd@gmail.com.
You can disable analytics cookies in your browser, or use a browser extension that blocks tracking scripts, without affecting your ability to read the site.

Children's Privacy

This site is not directed at children, and I don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.

If this policy changes, I'll update the date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be noted here.
